World of Warcraft Celebrates It's 18th Anniversary

This year, World of Warcraft celebrates its 18th Anniversary a little early because it is getting ready for the launch of Dragonflight.

This year, Blizzard celebrated the 18th Anniversary of World of Warcraft a little early. The anniversary celebrations moved up the calendar a few days because Dragonflight was released at the end of the month.

On November 23, 2004, World of Warcraft went live to build on the success of the popular strategy game Warcraft 3. The game, which featured eight races, nine classes, and two factions, established the MMORPGs standards for nearly two decades.

Since then, the game has seen changes and additions from eight expansions, with Dragonflight serving as the ninth overall.

Dragonflight heralds the start of World of Warcraft's Third Era, ushering in a new wave of storytelling and gameplay, even though the game has experienced its share of ups and downs over the years, including the numerous controversies surrounding Blizzard in recent years.

Things in the game have already changed from before with the pre-expansion patch live. The World of Warcraft anniversary, usually in late November, was moved up this year

It began on November 6 and will end on November 27, the day before Dragonflight takes off.

Players can travel to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms during the event's active period to battle Classic-era bosses like Azuregos, the Dragons of Nightmare, and Doom Lord Kazzak for a chance at valuable loot and Timewalking Badges.
