According to the most recent details revealed today by tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, mass shipments of Apple's long-rumored AR/VR headset may be postponed until the second half of 2023 due to unspecified "software-related issues."

Kuo stated that the first half of 2023 is still likely to see the start of large-scale shipments of headset components.

Nevertheless, he thinks large-scale shipments of fully assembled headsets could start in the year's second half.

Even if Apple announces the headset earlier in the year, this delay may cause it to debut in the second half of 2023. Apple could introduce the headset and an SDK for programmers to create AR/VR applications at WWDC 2023 in June.

In a previous report, Kuo stated that Apple intended to introduce the headset at a media event in January and start mass shipments in the second quarter of 2023.

Kuo is still deciding whether the postponement would cause the January announcement to be delayed. However, he did mention that too much time can harm sales between a media event and mass shipments.
