Instagram, a social media platform owned by Meta, today announced the rollout of a brand-new "Notes" feature that will let users express their ideas through text and emojis.
Notes are characterized as brief posts with a character limit of 60, making them comparable to tweets but supporting fewer words.
To share notes, go to the top of the inbox, choose the followers or close friends you want to share it with, and then write and publish your note. For 24 hours, notes will be visible at the top of the inbox, and replies will be shown as direct messages.
We discovered during testing that people appreciated having a quick, simple way to express their thoughts and strike up conversations.
People can connect and express themselves informally and spontaneously through notes, whether seeking advice or sharing what they're up to.
Instagram will soon introduce group profiles, enabling many users to share content through a single, shared profile.
