Aggro Crab, the studio behind the viral success of the underwater soulslike Peak, is publishing Rebounder, a high-stakes precision platformer developed by studio ThirtyThree that puts players in the boots of lunar contract laborers.
The game is scheduled for a 2027 release and is currently being showcased via a playable demo at PAX West 2026, running from September 4 through September 7.
Lunar Logistics and Precision Platforming
Developed by ThirtyThree, Rebounder centers on the grueling reality of blue-collar work in a sci-fi setting. Players take on the role of laborers stationed at a remote lunar worksite, where the primary objective is “running lines”—transporting vital cargo across hazardous, low-gravity terrain.
The gameplay emphasizes momentum and mechanical mastery, reflecting the developer’s focus on tight, demanding movement. The narrative framework positions these difficult platforming challenges as everyday tasks for contract workers who must navigate the moon’s hostile environment to fulfill their quotas.

The Success of ‘Peak’ Fuels New Opportunities
Aggro Crab’s publishing efforts follow the massive commercial performance of the studio’s 2025 title Peak, which reached a milestone of 20 million players by 2026. This success provided the capital necessary for Aggro Crab to transition into a publishing role, with the goal of supporting smaller independent teams.
The studio is positioning its publishing as a developer-friendly alternative. Aggro Crab has established specific publishing standards, including a strict “no generative AI” policy for all signed projects.
Furthermore, the studio is implementing a “no 100% recoup” clause in its contracts. This allows developers to receive a portion of their game’s revenue immediately upon release, rather than waiting for the publisher to fully recover its initial investment.

What’s Next for Rebounder
While Rebounder is a key project for the studio’s publishing efforts, Aggro Crab has indicated that their work will focus on games that align with their own history of mechanical polish and distinct personality.
Following the PAX West demo, the development team at ThirtyThree is expected to continue refining the lunar platformer’s mechanics ahead of its 2027 launch. Prospective players can currently find the game listed on Steam, where the studio has begun documenting the project’s progress toward its target release window.
