Apple is interested in forming partnerships with major publishers in order to train artificial intelligence

In recent news, Apple has expressed interest in partnering with major publishers to establish deals enabling the Cupertino company to train generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems on news content.

Condé Nast, known for its vast collection of reputable publications, including Vogue, Wired, Vanity Fair, Ars Technica, Glamour, The New Yorker, GQ, and more, is one of the major entities that Apple has approached.

Apple's proposed deals with publishers have been estimated to be worth at least $50 million. Such agreements would grant Apple the license to access and utilize extensive archives of news articles.

Apple's eagerness to become a prominent player in the generative AI realm is evident. Reports suggest that the company is intensifying its efforts to bridge the gap between itself and competitors such as Microsoft, Google, and Meta, who have already incorporated generative AI into their products.
