King of the Hill, which debuted in 1997 and was developed by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, was an instant smash with lovers of animated comedy and did well to stand out among the multitude of similar shows that were airing at that time, including The Simpsons and South Park.

King of the Hill ignored many of the far-fetched and world-breaking scenarios that often befell an average episode of many other shows. Instead, it rooted its characters in everyday scenarios fans were used to seeing in live-action sitcoms.

Fans knew it would be before the series appeared on their screens when Hulu formally gave it the green light in January. Even though there is not yet an official release date, it is possible that we will not see the Hill family return to the show this year.
