Another week and another bug in Overwatch 2 has temporarily taken a character off the roster. Mei has been born out of the game this time because her Ice Wall ability lets her and her teammates get an unfair advantage by going out of bounds.

There were also reports that some abilities could get through her wall. She will be playable again on November 15, when the next game update comes out. This update will fix a number of problems with the game.

Since Overwatch 2 came out, Mei has been the third hero temporarily taken out of the game. Bastion was able to fire too many artillery shells, and Torbjorn could use his Overload ability for much longer than he was supposed to.

Torb could still be played in Quick Play, but Bastion, like Mei, was entirely taken out of the game. Because it's hard to make updates and cross-platform play fair and work on all platforms,

it looks like these problems will need to be fixed for a little longer than they did in the first game. This gives the development team time to figure out where Mei was able to escape on different maps

Fans of Mei will probably be a little upset that they can't play as her for two weeks. This is a blessing for anyone who hates being slowed down by her freezing spray and is sick of her ability to stop.

When she returns, she will change how Zarya, Sombra, Genji, and Kiriko play in Overwatch 2. This balance update could change the meta quite a bit, and if you choose Mei in a match, it might give you a little more room to breathe.
