Techland has released Patch 1.7 for Dying Light: The Beast, marking the first anniversary of the title. Available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, the update introduces the “Call of the Beast” anniversary event alongside technical optimizations.

While earlier development plans included previous-generation consoles, Techland officially canceled the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Dying Light: The Beast in July 2026 to focus on current-gen performance.

Call of the Beast Anniversary Schedule

The anniversary celebration is split into multiple phases, including a double-experience weekend and a multi-week event focused on community interaction.

  • 2XP Weekend: A double-experience period runs from September 18 to September 21, 2026, applying to all progression tracks.
  • Call of the Beast Event: The main 1st Anniversary Edition event begins on September 21, 2026, and will remain active for three weeks.
  • Crane’s Anniversary Drops: A 21-day reward calendar starts on September 21. Players can claim these rewards through the Pilgrim Outpost Web Hub.
  • Reward Deadline: Any missed daily rewards from the anniversary calendar can be claimed until October 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM CEST.

During the three-week event, players can participate in weekly community votes. These votes allow the player base to influence unique gameplay modifiers that will be applied to the Castor Woods region.

Technical Changes and Bug Fixes

Patch 1.7 addresses specific graphical issues and progression blockers reported by the community. The primary focus of the technical update is improving stability for players using modern hardware.

  • RTX 40XX Optimization: Fixed a screen tearing issue affecting NVIDIA RTX 40-series graphics cards when Ray Tracing and Frame Generation were enabled simultaneously.
  • Race Challenges: Resolved a bug in Race Challenges where indestructible assets were incorrectly placed, blocking player paths.
  • Stability: General improvements to asset streaming in the Castor Woods to reduce stuttering during high-speed traversal.

The update ensures that the standalone title remains stable as Techland continues to support The Beast and ongoing content updates.
