PGA TOUR 2K25 update 1.031 (Build 25442856) launched on September 30, 2026, marking the official start of Season 8. The update introduces a new gameplay mechanic alongside seasonal rewards and stability improvements.
The Power Tee Shot
The primary addition in version 1.031 is the Power Tee Shot, a free shot type designed to provide extra yardage from the tee box. This mechanic allows players to increase their total distance when using Woods, Hybrids, and Long Irons. The trade-off for this increased power is a reduction in both accuracy and forgiveness.
The Power Tee Shot is unlocked at Tier 25 on the Season 8 Clubhouse Pass free track.
Season 8 Clubhouse Pass Rewards
Season 8 introduces a rotation of equipment and apparel through the Clubhouse Pass. The free track includes several items:
- PUMA Wild West Snapback Hat
- Bridgestone Tour B XS Golf Ball
- Galactic Amber TaylorMade Spider X Copper Putter
Premium Clubhouse Pass rewards include gear from Original Penguin, Oakley, TravisMathew, Reebok, and Mizuno. A pre-leveled TaylorMade Qi10 Tour Wood is also featured as a premium reward.
Bug Fixes and Stability
Update 1.031 addresses several technical issues:
- MyPLAYER Resets: Resolved a bug where the MyPLAYER golf bag and outfit would reset after the console returned from rest mode.
- Redemption Crashes: Fixed a crash that occurred when players attempted to redeem promotional codes.
These updates follow previous changes from version 1.23 in September 2025, which added Fields Ranch East and corrected percentile calculations for Ranked Tours.
Ranked Play and Competitive Reset
With the transition to Season 8, Ranked Matchmaking and Ranked Tours leaderboards have been reset. Additionally, weekly themed Ranked Tour events have been added to the competitive rotation.
