Fatshark has rolled out Warhammer Vermintide 2 Update 1.83 (v6.12.0) across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox. Arriving on August 25, 2026, this patch focuses on boss balancing and overall technical polish. The update also kicks off the Feast of Grimnir, a community event honoring the Dwarfen ancestor god. Players will find the Keep transformed with festive decorations, including candles and communal food, while tackling specific gameplay challenges to earn seasonal rewards and portrait frames.

Tuning the Trail of Treachery

A primary focus of this update is the health pool of the Troll Chief, the final obstacle in the Trail of Treachery mission. Experienced players on Cataclysm 3 found the encounter was ending a bit too quickly. To address this, developers increased the Troll Chief’s health by approximately 15 percent. This ensures the fight remains a genuine test of skill and teamwork for veteran groups. This adjustment is part of an ongoing effort to keep the endgame punishing and rewarding for long-term players.

Looking at how the game has shifted since the Vermintide 2 Update 3.2 Patch Notes on September 9, this version continues the trend of fine-tuning boss interactions. Necromancer Meta and Exploit Resolutions

The Necromancer career has received a critical fix for its “Army of the Dead” talent. Previously, a latency-based exploit allowed players to sacrifice a single skeleton multiple times. This bug gave an unintended advantage in high-tier play, providing excessive resource generation and damage reduction. By patching this loophole, Fatshark has re-aligned the career’s power level with the rest of the roster. The Necromancer remains a powerful utility and damage dealer, but now relies on proper skill rather than technical glitches.

Stability and Visual Polish

Technical performance was a high priority for Update 1.83. One significant fix addresses a crash that happened when third-party firewalls blocked the game’s connection to Twitch servers. Additionally, the team resolved an issue where players would crash while closing the Weekly Expedition view during the Monday refresh cycle. These improvements help maintain the flow of the Chaos Wastes mode, which players have been exploring heavily since the Be’lakor content arrived.

Beyond the code fixes, visual polish was also applied. The development team fixed an issue where the glow on Kerillian’s Longbow runed illusions was dimmer than intended. These weapons now display their bright, magical runes as originally designed. Furthermore, extra fixes were applied to the Skittergate map to stop invincibility bugs that occasionally disrupted mission progress.
