Pocketpair has released the 1.102.642 update for Palworld, introducing new narrative content and administrative tools for dedicated servers. The update focuses on expanding the endgame experience through specific sub-missions while giving server owners more granular control over construction limits.
New Sub-Missions and World Tree Expansion
The update adds two primary sub-missions: “Beyond Dimensions” and “From the Far Side of the Moon.” These missions further develop the lore and progression surrounding the late-game regions.
- Beyond Dimensions: Players can initiate this mission by speaking with a specific NPC located at Fisherman’s Point in Mount Obsidian.
- From the Far Side of the Moon: A new objective expanding the narrative scope of the current map.
The developer has also addressed a progression blocker in the World Tree region. Previously, the World Tree Guardian would fail to appear if players defeated the boss Panthalus prematurely. This fix ensures that endgame progression remains intact regardless of the order in which players engage with regional mechanics.
Server Settings and Building Limits
For players on dedicated servers, the 1.102.642 update implements a new server setting that allows administrators to set a building limit on a per-player basis. This change allows for granular resource distribution on populated servers.
Gameplay Balance and Adjustments
Several quality-of-life changes and balance shifts have been implemented in the Sakurajima region and general survival mechanics:
- Pal Critic Requirements: In the Sakurajima region, the Pal Critic now requires Dogen to progress, replacing the previous requirement for Selyne.
- Campfire Safety: Players and Pals no longer take fire damage from player-built Campfires, removing a source of accidental injury within bases.
Platform-Specific Improvements
The update includes technical refinements tailored to the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. According to the official patch notes, the PC version now features a default FPS cap of 120.
For PlayStation 5 users, the integration of social features has been improved. Players can now open the chat interface directly via the Radial Menu, streamlining communication during multiplayer sessions.
