The anime-style action roguelite Ved: Recure is set to launch for PC via Steam. Developed and published by the China-based studio SummerClip, the title introduces a meta-narrative premise and a highly customizable combat system that distinguishes it from traditional fantasy-themed entries in the genre.

The game follows the story of an office worker who, after enduring 27 consecutive days of overtime, finds themselves trapped inside their “1,000th backlog game.” This digital world is governed by a deity known as the Demeowrge, forcing the protagonist to navigate through four major stages and confront 16 distinct bosses to find a way back to reality.

The Buff Chain Combat System

The mechanical centerpiece of Ved: Recure is the “Buff Chain” system. Rather than relying on static power-ups, the game allows players to attach more than 150 unique effects to specific action triggers. These effects are spread across nine different attributes, and players can map them to maneuvers such as successful dodges or standard attack sequences.

This system provides a high degree of build flexibility, allowing for “trigger-based” combat styles where specific movement or timing leads to compounding status effects. While the game’s visual style and fast-paced action have drawn comparisons to titles like Zenless Zone Zero, Ved: Recure functions as a standalone premium experience without gacha-based progression mechanics.

Playable Characters and Voice Cast

Players can choose from a roster of seven playable characters: Chillo, Plumy, Kiki, Daria, Fei, Frostelle, and Zane. To support the game’s anime aesthetic, SummerClip has enlisted a prominent Japanese voice cast to portray the lineup. Notable talent includes Ikumi Hasegawa and Tomoyo Takayanagi, whose participation was confirmed earlier this month.
