Path of Exile 2 update 1.124 Patch Notes (POE2 patch 0.5.5c)

Published on:

Grinding Gear Games has released Path of Exile 2 update 0.5.5c, appearing as version 1.124 on consoles. The update, launched on September 18, 2026, focuses on resolving a progression block in the Legacy of the Precursors questline and introduces quality-of-life improvements for Trial of the Sekhemas participants.

Quest Progression and Item Changes

The primary fix in this update addresses a rare issue where players were unable to complete the Legacy of the Precursors questline after defeating the Arbiter of Divinity. To ensure quest integrity, the developer has implemented new requirements for obtaining quest items.

Players must now be present when bosses die in the Patriarch Halls, Matriarch Halls, and Enigma Chambers to collect the associated quest items.

Trial of the Sekhemas and Trial of Chaos

For players engaging with the Trial of the Sekhemas, the NPC Balbala now includes an “Identify Items” option. This addition allows players to reveal item properties without leaving the trial area. Additionally, the update corrects a reward discrepancy within the Trial of Chaos. The second tier of the “Wager of Chaos” modifier now correctly grants +2 minimum rewards, instead of the previous +1 value.

Stability and Forbidden Rites League Fixes

The patch includes several technical improvements to the Forbidden Rites league, which is currently active. These include fixing an issue where NPC names for Asinia and Draven were displaying incorrectly in the chat interface. General stability has also been targeted, with the developer confirming fixes for 3 specific client crashes and 3 instance crashes.
