Hellraiser: Revival Gameplay Overview Details Puzzle Box Mechanics and Release Date

Published on:

Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games have released a comprehensive four-minute gameplay overview for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, providing the most detailed look yet at the upcoming survival horror title. The trailer, released on September 23, 2026, clarifies that the game is a dedicated single-player experience, distancing it from initial rumors of an asymmetric multiplayer focus.

Scheduled for launch on October 8, 2026, the game follows protagonist Aidan Lynch, voiced by Xalavier Nelson Jr., as he descends into the Labyrinth to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny. The project features direct collaboration from Clive Barker on the story, lore, and visual aesthetic, and marks the return of Doug Bradley as the voice of Pinhead.

The Genesis Configuration

Central to the gameplay is the Genesis Configuration, the franchise’s iconic puzzle box, which serves as Aidan’s primary tool for survival. Rather than acting as a simple inventory item, the box is a central weapon and ability system. Players can utilize the configuration to wield supernatural powers, including telekinesis and fire-based attacks, to fend off the Cenobites and other horrors within the Labyrinth.

Technical Features and Platform Availability

Built on Unreal Engine 5, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is designed to leverage high-fidelity lighting and environmental effects to capture the visceral nature of the source material. Due to the graphic nature of the content, the developers have also released a “Red Band” version of the trailer to showcase the extreme adult themes present in the final build.

Saber Interactive Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits has confirmed that the game will not face censorship on any platform. This includes the version for the Nintendo Switch 2, which Willits stated will be identical in content to the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S releases.
