Pearl Abyss has released update 1.000.568 for Crimson Desert. The patch targets critical progression blocks in content, specifically addressing failures in the Ether Rest Abyss and quest NPC visibility.
Key Quest and Progression Fixes
The update resolves issues that prevented players from completing specific story and exploration content. In the ‘Ether Rest’ Abyss, a bug involving power core detection failure previously caused a progression block; this has been corrected to allow players to advance. Additionally, the NPC Grimnir will now correctly appear during ‘The Mysterious Pot’ quest, allowing players to interact and continue the objective.
Other general improvements include:
- Map Icons: Map icons for newly discovered objects in specific regions now display correctly on the world map.
FSR4 and Visual Technical Issues
The implementation of FSR4 upscaling has encountered specific technical hurdles. Pearl Abyss has confirmed a known issue where using FSR4 in rainy environments causes the rain textures to disappear or results in screen distortion.
Known Issues and Platform Specifics
While the 1.000.568 update addresses immediate blocks, several platform-specific bugs remain. Mac players using keyboard and mouse setups may notice a discrepancy between the cursor position and the actual placement points when arranging furniture. On PlayStation, entering characters too rapidly on the virtual keyboard while naming pets or horses can cause a screen freeze.
Faction-related progression also faces a temporary limitation. Greymane faction quests currently cannot be progressed if the player is using the characters Damiane or Oongka. Players focused on faction reputation may need to switch characters to bypass this specific block.
