Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Update 1.003 Patch Notes: Hotfix #3 Fixes Weapon Damage

Published on:

Cold Iron Studios released Hotfix #3 (Update 1.003) for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 on September 29, 2026. This patch addresses a replication bug that caused weapons to fail to deal damage correctly during missions, alongside stability fixes for AI teammates.

The update is live for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While the sequel is available on these platforms, the Nintendo Switch 2 version remains delayed until early 2027.

Key Stability and Combat Fixes

The primary focus of Hotfix #3 is combat consistency. Previously, a replication error prevented hits from registering as intended. This update also corrects how the game calculates starting ammunition when certain perks or attachments are equipped.

  • Weapon Damage: Resolved a replication bug that prevented weapons from dealing damage correctly.
  • Ammunition Calculation: Fixed an issue where weapon attachments and perks applied incorrect starting ammunition values.
  • Crash Resolution: Fixed a game crash that occurred when Companion Bots attempted to revive a downed player.

Known Issues in Version 1.003

Hotfix #3 introduces a specific bug where the EVI-87 Zvezda Plasma Rifle can overheat without firing if the fire button is activated rapidly. This issue can leave players vulnerable while the weapon cools down.

This update is for the 2026 sequel; references to the Pathogen expansion or version 1.23 apply only to the original 2021 title and are not part of the Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 ecosystem.
