Hell Let Loose Vietnam Update 1.011 Patch Notes (Version 1.5)

Published on:

Team17 has released Update 1.5 for the Hell Let Loose Vietnam expansion, bringing the officially licensed Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) to the battlefield and increasing ammunition reserves for several key weapon systems. This update, designated as version 1.011.000 on consoles, arrived on September 16, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Bell UH-1 Huey and Helicopter Overhaul

The central feature of Update 1.5 is the introduction of the Bell UH-1 Iroquois, commonly known as the Huey. This licensed aircraft replaces the generic fictional helicopters previously used as placeholders in the Vietnam expansion. This transition marks a shift from functional assets to authentic military hardware, accompanied by new mechanics for aerial engagement.

  • In-Flight Audio: The Huey features a built-in radio system. The co-pilot can now play music that is audible to all occupants and players in the immediate proximity of the aircraft.
  • Crash Mechanics: A significant change has been made to helicopter destruction. Occupants no longer die instantly when the aircraft is destroyed; instead, the helicopter now performs a crash sequence to the ground before the crew is eliminated.
  • Defensive Buffs: The ammunition capacity for the helicopter-mounted M60 machine guns has been increased from 400 to 500 rounds.

Weapon Additions and Ammunition Adjustments

Update 1.5 expands the arsenal for veteran players and increases the sustainability of the M16 in prolonged firefights. The M14 and Type 56 SKS semi-automatic rifles are now available for Level 3 roles, including Squad Leader, Rifleman, Specialist, and Engineer.

The M16 rifle has received a substantial ammunition buff to improve its effectiveness in the field. The default loadout has increased from 4 magazines to 6, while the maximum ammunition limit has been raised to 10 magazines. This change allows frontline roles to engage in more sustained combat without relying as heavily on frequent resupply.

Garrison Changes and Quality of Life

The placement of Garrisons is now more strictly regulated. Players can no longer place a Garrison if an enemy player is detected within a 15-meter radius. This change requires squads to more thoroughly clear an area of hostiles before establishing a new spawn point.

Progression tracking has also seen a technical improvement. Team17 has fixed a specific XP breakdown string-table error, ensuring that post-match progression and experience point gains are displayed accurately to the player.

Finally, a free US Pilot Uniform is being granted to all players who log in during the Update 1.5 release window. This cosmetic reward accompanies the arrival of the Huey, allowing players to customize their pilots to match the newly added licensed aircraft.
