Halloween Game Update 1.011 Patch Notes (v1.0.3)

Published on:

Released on September 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, Update 1.011 (v1.0.3) for Halloween: The Game introduces a significant shift in the power dynamic between the killer and survivors. This update prioritizes making Michael Myers a more resilient threat while curbing the effectiveness of high-damage builds used by Civilian players.

Michael Myers: Post-Down Resilience

The most substantial change for Michael Myers is a new suite of buffs triggered immediately after he recovers from a Downed state. These adjustments are designed to prevent players from effectively “locking” the killer in a loop of constant downs. After recovering, Michael now receives:

  • Temporary immunity to Stagger.
  • Increased Damage Resistance and Daze Resistance.
  • Increased Melee Damage and Melee Attack Speed.
  • Temporary Health Regeneration.

In addition to these survival buffs, Michael’s Shape Mine animation has been adjusted so his movement no longer stops completely during placement. The difficulty of the Pocket Knife minigame for Civilians has also been slightly increased, providing Michael with a longer window to initiate Context Executions.

Civilian Rebalancing and Weapon Availability

To address the meta of one-shotting Michael, the developers have rebalanced the scaling of the Capability stat. Melee damage effectiveness was reduced at higher Capability levels to eliminate one-shot downs, though damage was slightly increased at lower stat values. Weapon availability has also been tightened across all maps, with lower spawn rates for:

  • Heavy Melee Weapons
  • Rifles
  • Shotguns

Grind Reduction and Progressive Challenges

Update 1.011 includes a reduction pass affecting characters including 1978 Michael, Laurie, Bob, and Annie. These changes significantly lower the requirements for character-specific Progressive Challenges. For example, the requirement for Laurie’s “Final Girl” challenge has been halved from 30 survivals to 15.

Bug Fixes and Map Adjustments

The update addresses a specific collision exploit in the Orange Grove Estates map. Previously, Michael was unable to reach Civilians who retreated to the merry-go-round; this has been fixed to ensure the killer can navigate the area correctly. Players can view technical details via the SteamDB patch repository.

Gameplay Impact Analysis

These changes collectively suggest a move toward a more traditional slasher experience. By buffing Michael’s recovery and limiting the availability of high-tier firearms, the update forces Civilians to rely more on stealth and positioning rather than direct confrontation. The reduction in challenge requirements also suggests a focus on increasing player retention by making character progression feel more attainable for the general player base.
