Artdink has officially introduced A-Train 9 PRIME LINE for PC, positioning the title as the definitive culmination of a city-building and railway simulation series that first debuted in 2010. Revealed in coordination with the Tokyo Game Show 2026, this release serves as a comprehensive consolidation of over a decade’s worth of development, updates, and expansions.
The release is timed to mark the 15th anniversary of the A-Train 9 series. Since its original launch, the software has undergone numerous iterations; PRIME LINE is designed to integrate all content released from the initial version through the Version 5.0 Final Edition into a single package.

A Comprehensive Fleet and Enhanced Simulation
The primary draw of the PRIME LINE edition is its significant scale. According to the A-Train 9 PRIME LINE official site, the game features a roster of more than 300 real-world vehicles. This collection spans various eras and types of Japanese rail transport, allowing players to build and manage intricate networks using a vast library of historically accurate equipment.
Beyond the sheer volume of assets, this edition introduces technical refinements aimed at modernizing the simulation experience. Artdink has highlighted evolved landscape expression, which provides a more nuanced and visually detailed environment for the urban centers players construct.
Expanded Freedom in Track Construction
A-Train 9 has long been recognized for its granular control over infrastructure, and PRIME LINE increases the flexibility of its core building tools. The version offers expanded freedom in track placement, relaxing several construction constraints found in previous versions. This allows for the creation of more complex junctions and railway layouts that were previously limited by the engine’s track logic.
By integrating these technical upgrades with the complete content library of Version 5.0, the PRIME LINE edition is presented as the most polished and complete form of the A-Train 9 experience for the PC platform.
