Snack World: Reloaded TGS Demo Showcases New Diorama Art Style and Treasure Board System

LEVEL-5 has provided the first extended look at the upcoming Snack World: Reloaded, releasing a 30-minute gameplay demonstration following Tokyo Game Show 2026. The footage, published on September 26, 2026, showcases the mechanical and visual shifts planned for the series’ return, which is currently scheduled for a 2027 release window.

The demonstration highlights a significant aesthetic departure from previous entries in the franchise. The title adopts a “diorama-style” visual design, characterized by tilt-shift effects and environments that resemble high-quality miniatures. This stylistic choice draws comparisons to the visual approach used in contemporary top-down adventures, emphasizing a tactile, toy-like feel that distinguishes it from the series’ 2017 roots on the Nintendo 3DS.

The TGS 2026 demo highlighted the transition from 3DS-era visuals to modern, high-detail environments.

Beyond the visual update, the TGS 2026 demo introduced the “Treasure Board” system. This interface serves as the primary hub for quest navigation, allowing players to select specific mission areas and preview potential rewards before embarking on a dungeon crawl. The demo specifically featured exploration through a forest biome, illustrating how the new navigation system integrates with the core gameplay loop of looting and gear progression.

Fans of the series will also find a new narrative focus in this version. The gameplay includes a dedicated mode centered on Chup, the protagonist of the Snack World anime series. This addition allows players to experience the story through Chup’s perspective, bridging the gap between the franchise’s multimedia history and its interactive gameplay. According to the official Snack World website, these updates are designed to modernize the experience for a global audience when it launches next year.

While the original Snack World titles focused heavily on randomized dungeon crawling, the Reloaded demo suggests a more refined balance between exploration and structured storytelling. The 30-minute playthrough confirms that the 2027 launch will aim to capture the quirky, loot-focused charm of the original while leveraging current hardware capabilities to deliver a much higher level of visual fidelity.
