Forza Horizon 6 Update 3.440.853.0 Adds British Automotive and Drift Attack

The Forza Horizon 6 update released on September 7, 2026, introduces the “British Automotive” series and the new Drift Attack gameplay mode. This patch, version 3.440.853.0 for Xbox and Windows and 1.440.853.0 for Steam, also addresses technical issues regarding raytracing on Intel hardware and restores missing progression credits for previous seasonal challenges.

New Content and British Automotive Series

While the patch is live now, the British Automotive limited-time series officially begins on September 10, 2026, and is scheduled to run through October 8. This series update adds the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition to the roster alongside the new Drift Attack mode.

Players with the Car Pass will see a weekly rollout of new vehicles throughout the series:

  • September 10: 2025 McLaren W1
  • September 17: 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170
  • September 24: 1998 Renault Sport Spider
  • October 1: 1987 Porsche 911 ‘Luftauto 002’

Gameplay Balancing and Technical Fixes

This update provides a critical fix for PC players using Intel GPUs, resolving bug 4501614 which previously prevented raytracing from functioning. Additionally, retroactive completion credit for all Series 4 Winter Daily Challenges is being granted to players who participated during the Series 4 Winter or Spring seasons.

In terms of world balancing, lap counts for several Horizon Play circuits have been adjusted. Circuits including Daikoku and Shimanoyama now feature revised lap requirements intended to normalize race times across different car classes.

PC Performance and Visual Changes

PC users who utilize the “High” Car Level of Detail (LOD) setting will notice a visual improvement in player-car models. This change increases the quality of the vehicles rendered on-screen, though it comes with a projected 3% increase in GPU load. Players on mid-range hardware may need to monitor frame rates if they are already near their hardware’s performance limit.

What Changes for Players

  • Progression Restoration: Series 4 Winter Daily Challenges should now show as completed for eligible participants from the Winter or Spring seasons.
  • Visual Fidelity: PC players on “High” settings will see more detailed car models, though they should account for the minor 3% performance overhead.
  • Drift Attack: The new mode offers a fresh way to engage with drifting mechanics in the game.
