Arjun Joins Street Fighter 6 on October 13 With Bare-knuckle Yoga Mechanics

Published on:

Arjun, the second character of the Street Fighter 6 Year 4 Pass, will join the roster. A former Indian police officer with a heavy-hitting combat style, Arjun follows the August release of Yasmine as the game continues its most recent season of content updates.

Unlike the series’ iconic yoga practitioner Dhalsim, who relies on long-range zoning and agility, Arjun is described as a bulky powerhouse. His “Bare-knuckle Yoga” fighting style emphasizes physical strength and elemental control over wind and earth. According to reporting from Eurogamer, Arjun’s mechanics revolve around “Yoga Breathing” techniques designed to pressure opponents by dealing “grey life”—or recoverable damage—even when his attacks are blocked.

Moveset and Elemental Mastery

Arjun’s gameplay focuses on raw power and grounding his opponents. His confirmed special moves include:

  • Arm of Justice: A heavy strike utilizing his background in law enforcement.
  • Cruel Shoulder: A high-impact physical lunge.
  • Breathing Ring: A technique likely tied to his elemental wind manipulation.
  • Divine Pillar: A powerful move that leans into his earth-based abilities.

Games Press reports that his Level 3 Super Art features choreographed poses heavily inspired by Bollywood cinema, adding a distinct cultural flair to his finisher. This blend of traditional yoga breathing and aggressive brawling positions him as a unique close-quarters alternative to the more traditional “yoga” archetype in the series.

Backstory and the Year 4 Roadmap

Arjun’s narrative in Street Fighter 6 is centered on a tragic fall from grace. Official lore establishes him as a former officer who was framed for the murder of his partner, a motivation that drives his presence in the current tournament.

His arrival marks the midpoint of the Year 4 Pass, which has garnered significant attention for its crossover potential. Following Arjun’s release, Capcom is scheduled to launch Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII in early 2027, followed by the character Bosch in the spring. This season of content is available across all current platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
