The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Persona 4 Revival is officially set for release on May 20, 2027. This launch comes three months after the title’s debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, which are currently scheduled to receive the remake on February 18, 2027.

According to official details from SEGA Asia, this release is a full remake of Persona 4 Golden built on Unreal Engine 5. While the later release date for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware may require patience from fans, the Switch 2 version is designed to leverage the console’s hardware.

Technical and Narrative Preservation

Atlus has confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will incorporate major additions from the Golden version. This includes the “Third Semester” story arc and the Social Link for Marie, ensuring that the remake serves as a comprehensive update to the original narrative.

On the technical front, the move to Unreal Engine 5 brings modern lighting, high-fidelity character models, and reimagined environments to the town of Inaba. The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to provide a consistent performance profile that bridges the gap between portable play and high-definition home console visuals.

Evolved Combat and “Prime Time” Mechanics

While the story remains faithful to the original narrative, the gameplay has been updated with mechanics introduced in later series entries. Players can expect the “Baton Pass” system to be integrated into the turn-based combat. Additionally, a new mechanic called “Prime Time” has been introduced, which features a specialized gauge for powerful team-based maneuvers.

Musical Direction and the Road to Persona 6

The soundtrack is receiving an overhaul under the direction of composer Ryota Kozuka. Shiori Sasaki has been named as the lead vocalist for the project.

In addition to the news surrounding the Persona 4 remake, Atlus confirmed that Persona 6 is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. While a specific release window for the next mainline entry has not been provided, the commitment to the platform highlights Nintendo’s new hardware as a central pillar for the franchise’s future.
