Atlus has officially confirmed that Persona 6 is in development for the Nintendo Switch 2, marking a significant expansion for the next installment in the long-running JRPG series. The announcement, made during the September 9, 2026, Nintendo Direct, ensures the title will be available on Nintendo’s upcoming hardware alongside previously confirmed versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The confirmation follows the game’s initial reveal in June 2026 and aligns with Sega’s broader strategy to release major titles across all major platforms simultaneously. Persona 6 is moving away from the aesthetic styles of its predecessors, adopting a prominent green color scheme and a tone described as “horror-inspired.”
Persona 4 Revival and Release Timelines
In addition to the news regarding Persona 6, Atlus announced Persona 4 Revival, a full remake of Persona 4 Golden. While the remake is scheduled to launch on most platforms on February 18, 2027, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will arrive roughly three months later.
According to details shared during the presentation, Persona 4 Revival will launch on the Switch 2 on May 20, 2027. This staggered release for the Nintendo version contrasts with the expected simultaneous launch for Persona 6, though a specific release window for the latter has not yet been finalized.
Steam Backend Leak Reveals Achievement Data
The official announcements on September 9 were accompanied by a significant leak originating from the Steam backend. Data miners reportedly discovered achievement lists for Persona 6, as well as Kingdom Hearts IV, which appeared on the platform’s staging servers on the same day as the Nintendo Direct.
The leaked achievement data has provided early insight into the game’s structure, though Atlus has not commented on the specific narrative or gameplay details exposed by the breach.
