Happinet has officially announced it will handle publishing duties for Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray, the high-stakes cyberpunk action game developed by Gou Hong Studio. Currently targeting a Q1 2027 release on PC via Steam, the partnership solidifies the game’s path to market following its development and appearances in independent game jam circles.
The announcement coincides with a planned showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where the title will be featured as part of the Happinet booth’s indie lineup. Players attending the event from September 17 to 21 will have access to a playable version of the game ahead of its wider release.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 Demo and Rewards
The upcoming showcase will be located at Hall 9 in the Indie Game Corner, specifically at booth E63. Happinet is organizing a “10-Minute Challenge” on the show floor, offering physical incentives for high performance. Attendees who successfully clear two stages within the time limit will receive an exclusive original mouse pad.
For those unable to attend the physical event in Japan, a free digital demo is scheduled to be available on Steam during the event window. This version of the game is expected to include the first three chapters of the story and provide access to six different weapons, allowing players to test the combat variety before the 2027 launch.
Gameplay and the Gyakugawa Reboot System
Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray is a top-down action-adventure that utilizes a “one-hit-kill” combat loop, requiring precision and quick reflexes. Set in the metropolis of StillFlow City, the game employs a CRT-inspired pixel-art aesthetic to establish its cyberpunk atmosphere. According to PR TIMES, the core loop is built around the “Gyakugawa Emergency Reboot Device,” an in-game implant that allows players to rewind time upon death.
This temporal mechanic enables players to immediately re-attempt difficult encounters without losing significant progress, balancing the high difficulty inherent in a one-hit-kill environment. While early versions of the project were associated with GCORES PUBLISHING during its demo and jam phases, Happinet’s new involvement marks the primary publishing arrangement for the full commercial release. At this time, the developer has not confirmed plans for console versions, as the current focus remains on the PC platform.
