Remedy Entertainment has finalized the PC hardware requirements for Control Resonant, establishing a massive performance gap between its baseline experience and its premier visual settings. Ahead of the game’s September 24, 2026, launch, the studio confirmed that while the most advanced path-tracing features will push performance demands, the minimum entry point remains accessible to PCs nearly a decade old.
To support high-fidelity visuals, the game includes native integration for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.1, both of which utilize frame generation and ray reconstruction technologies to maintain playable frame rates at high resolutions.

Scalable Performance for Older Hardware
Despite the high ceiling for enthusiast builds, the minimum specifications for Control Resonant are surprisingly modest. For players targeting 1080p resolution at 30fps on Low settings, the game supports older mid-range cards including the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, the AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, and the Intel Arc A580. This wide compatibility ensures that the sequel to 2019’s Control can run on a broad range of legacy hardware, even as it pushes the boundaries of modern lighting tech.
However, some hardware requirements are non-negotiable across all tiers. Every configuration requires 16GB of system RAM and 120GB of available SSD storage. This storage footprint reflects the game’s transition from the claustrophobic corridors of the Oldest House to an open-ended, reality-warped version of Manhattan.
A Shift in Genre and Gameplay
The hardware demands coincide with a significant evolution in the franchise’s core loop. Control Resonant shifts the series from a traditional third-person shooter into the action RPG genre. Players take on the role of Dylan Faden, who navigates the distorted streets of New York in a quest to locate his sister, Jesse Faden.
This shift in genre is accompanied by a change in combat philosophy. While the first game centered on the Service Weapon’s firearm transformations, Control Resonant focuses on melee-centric combat through the “Aberrant,” a shapeshifting weapon that allows for various close-quarters engagement styles. This new mechanical focus marks a broader expansion of the Remedy Connected Universe into more diverse gameplay systems and narrative structures.
Control Resonant will launch simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 24, 2026.
