Cold Symmetry has released update 1.000.010 for Mortal Shell 2, focusing on stability and character progression. This hotfix is currently available for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, addressing critical animation locks and progression mechanics.
Mether’s Severance and Progression Changes
A significant change in version 1.000.010 involves the Mether’s Severance item. This utility is now functional at the Genessa trainer. This allows players to utilize the item within the trainer interface, providing more flexibility for character development.
Additional fixes for Shell-specific abilities and perks include:
- Proxima: Resolved an issue where the character would become permanently stuck during the Biosampler animation.
- Lazlo: Fixed an infinite glitch associated with the Temperament perk.
- Colossus Stone: Players can now manually cancel the Colossus Stone’s ability during its execution phase.
Bug Fixes and Environmental Stability
The update also targets several technical exploits and environmental bugs that hindered exploration. A major fix has been applied to Egon’s Stone; previously, this item could trigger a Gloom exploit that resulted in a failure to load subsequent dungeons.
According to patch notes, several other specific gameplay issues have been resolved:
- Corrected a bug where the Starved Harridan enemy could become stuck in the geometry and die.
- Fixed a camera traversal error that occurred specifically while navigating the Citadel Annex.
Gameplay Impact
The activation of the Mether’s Severance utility at the Genessa trainer facilitates easier use of the item for character management. Furthermore, the fix for Proxima’s Biosampler animation removes a progression blocker that previously disrupted gameplay. These changes, alongside the resolution of the Lazlo Temperament perk glitch, aim to stabilize the combat economy and shell progression.
