Stability and Progression Fixes

The primary purpose of update 2.002 is to resolve technical issues introduced during the recent expansion-prep cycle. The patch addresses rare game crashing and specific progression bugs that prevented some players from advancing through the main story or side content. According to EGW.News, these stability improvements follow the 29GB update 2.000, which integrated assets for the upcoming story expansion.

New Features in the 2.x Update Series

While version 2.002 focuses on polish, the broader 2.x update series has introduced significant features now available to all players. These changes set the stage for the Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition, which launches on October 1, 2026 according to the PlayStation.Blog.

  • Armor Transmog: Players can now customize their appearance by applying the look of one armor set to the stats of another.
  • Beauty of Yōtei Mode: This new cinematic showcase allows players to view the game world through a dedicated world-showcase feature.

Most Wanted Mode and Jin Sakai

The updates also prepare the game for the Most Wanted mode. This new single-player survival bounty run features Jin Sakai as a playable character, marking the protagonist’s return in a new gameplay format.
