Titan Quest II Targets Mid-January Release Window Between Path of Exile II and Q1 Blockbusters

Published on:

THQ Nordic has officially scheduled the 1.0 release of Titan Quest II for January 19, 2027. Developed by Munich-based Grimlore Games, the action RPG will graduate from Early Access with a simultaneous debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The timing represents a calculated tactical window for the sequel. By launching in mid-January, Titan Quest II arrives after the scheduled December 11, 2026, full release of Path of Exile II. This buffer is intended to give the free-to-play giant’s initial surge time to settle while allowing Titan Quest II to establish itself before the heavy slate of spring blockbuster releases begins in late Q1 2027.

Pricing Adjustments and Platform Expansion

Players currently participating in the Early Access period, which began on August 1, 2025, have access to the game at a reduced entry point of $34.99 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. However, the transition to version 1.0 will bring a significant price increase. At launch, the PC version will rise to $49.99, while the new console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be priced at $59.99.

While the Early Access phase has been limited to PC players, the 1.0 launch marks the first time console players can step into Grimlore Games’ reimagining of ancient Greece. THQ Nordic has not yet confirmed specific performance targets for the console versions, such as 60 FPS modes or final resolution specifications for the Series X and PS5.

Early Access Progress and Player Feedback

The road to the 1.0 release has seen several major content updates, including the “Wild Lands” expansion and a revamped crafting system introduced in mid-2026. According to reported player claims, some users are concerned that the current skill tree depth and build variety feel incomplete as the game approaches its final release window.

The full release will complete the story of the protagonist's struggle against Nemesis.

The 1.0 version is expected to address these concerns by delivering the completed story campaign. Unlike Path of Exile II, which operates on a live-service, free-to-play model, Titan Quest II is positioning itself as a premium, standalone experience, emphasizing a finite narrative campaign alongside its tactical ARPG combat.

For those looking to secure the game at its lower price point, the $34.99 Early Access offer remains available on PC until the January transition. Existing owners of the Early Access version will receive the 1.0 update at no additional cost when it goes live.
