Hell Let Loose Update 1.060 Patch Notes (Update 21) on September 23, 2026

Team17 released Update 21 for Hell Let Loose on September 23, 2026, introducing a new Morale-based Conquest mode alongside infantry features like rifle grenades and fire-mode selection. The update, identified as version 1.060 on PlayStation 5, is now live across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Conquest Mode and the Morale System

The headline addition in Update 21 is Conquest, a game mode that shifts the focus toward a “Morale” resource. Each team begins the match with 1,000 Morale points; the match concludes immediately when a team’s Morale reaches zero. This mechanic changes the strategic value of specific roles and assets:

  • Medic Role: Player revives now directly preserve Morale, making the Medic more influential in maintaining the team’s resource pool.
  • Vehicle Destruction: Losing vehicles incurs specific Morale penalties, categorized by the vehicle’s weight and importance to the front line.
  • Territory Control: Holding sectors influences the rate of Morale depletion for the opposing team.

Rifle Grenades and Fire-Mode Selection

Update 21 introduces three specific Rifle Grenade variants to infantry loadouts, providing squads with mobile indirect fire capabilities. These include the Karabiner 98k (Schiessbecher), the M1 Garand (M7), and the SMLE No.1 Mk III (No.1 Mk I Cup Discharger). While effective against infantry, the Anti-Tank (AT) Rifle Grenades are capable of damaging Tier 1 player-built structures but cannot destroy Garrisons.

Players can also now manually toggle fire modes on select automatic and semi-automatic weapons. This feature has been applied to the MG34, FG42, STG 44, and the BAR, allowing for better ammunition management and accuracy at varying ranges.

Vehicle and Combat Balance Changes

Significant adjustments have been made to armored combat and stationary weaponry to improve field effectiveness. According to the official Team17 changelog, heavy armor has received a boost to its anti-infantry capabilities:

  • Heavy Tank HE Shells: The High Explosive (HE) blast radius for standard Heavy Tanks has increased from 15m to 18m.
  • Specialized Heavies: The blast radius for the IS-1 and Tiger tanks has been further increased to 19m.
  • Anti-Tank Guns: The barrel rotation speed for AT Guns has been tripled, moving from 1 degree per second to 3 degrees per second, allowing for faster tracking of moving targets.

Bug Fixes and Technical Improvements

The update addresses several mechanical inconsistencies, most notably a physics bug affecting American armor. Previously, the winter variant of the US Medium Tank suffered from a slower turn rate compared to its summer counterpart; this has been corrected to ensure identical performance across all environment skins. General performance stability and minor environmental collision issues were also addressed in this build.
