The update introduces a shift for competitive players by removing restrictions on the VMP in Ranked Play and implementing mechanical nerfs to defensive tools in Warzone.
Multiplayer and Ranked Play Adjustments
The most notable change for Multiplayer is the integration of the VMP submachine gun into the competitive environment. The VMP and select attachments are now available for use in Ranked Play. This addition changes the close-range options as players gain access to the high-mobility weapon in ranked ladders.
Additional Multiplayer fixes include:
- Warden 308 Revolver: Fixed an issue where the Akimbo fire-mode toggle was reversed, ensuring the weapon operates as intended.
Warzone Meta and Utility Changes
Significant adjustments have been made to the Fortune’s Keep map, specifically targeting the Boat Exclusion Zone. These changes reduce the overall impact and uptime of the mechanic during matches.
- Boat Exclusion Zone Uses: Maximum uses have been reduced from three to two.
- Boat Exclusion Zone Duration: The active duration was shortened, moving from approximately 140 seconds down to 80 seconds.
A change to player utility prevents Warzone players from detonating C4 while in the Last Stand state. This update removes the ability to detonate explosives after being neutralized.
Zombies Stability
For Zombies players, the update focuses on a bug within the Rex Infernus map. Treyarch fixed an issue in the Boss Rush mode where the Z-Rex could become stuck out-of-bounds. This fix ensures that the encounter proceeds normally without the boss becoming unreachable.
