Obsidian Entertainment has released a technical update for The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, focusing on quality-of-life improvements and specific quest fixes. Version 2.5.11 for PC and 2.011.000 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launched on September 24, 2026.
New Bug Reporting Tools
The primary addition in this update is a streamlined system for players to submit technical issues directly to the developer. PC players now have access to a dedicated bug-report button within the game menus. Console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can access a QR code that directs them to the official Obsidian support page.
Technical and Gameplay Fixes
A significant technical correction addresses a persistent issue with visual configurations. Graphic settings no longer revert to “automatically detected” values after a player returns to the main menu, ensuring that manual performance or fidelity choices remain saved between sessions.
Combat and quest-related fixes include:
- Byzantium Combat: A bug that caused Plasma Launcher shots to fail specifically against Corporate Technicians on Byzantium has been resolved.
- Peril on Gorgon DLC: The mysterious package associated with this expansion now only appears at the intended time, correcting a bug where it was visible throughout the game.
- Quest Beacons: In the Roseway Secret Lab, the canister quest beacon has been updated to correctly read “Gas Raptidons” instead of the generic “Raptidons.”
- Journal Markers: If the quest “Worst Contact” is botched, a botch marker will now correctly appear in the journal ledger.
Quest and Item Adjustments
The update also refines the behavior of specific items. Clive’s “Special” Boarst consumables are now restricted to the interior of the C&P Factory, preventing them from appearing in unintended locations.
These changes are currently live across all platforms. Detailed documentation of the update can be found on the Steam Community page for the Spacer’s Choice Edition.
