Diablo 4 update 3.2.1 (Update 2.18 on PlayStation) launched on September 14, 2026, ahead of Season 15. The Season of Hell’s Legacy update introduces the franchise’s classic Prime Evils into the current narrative and implements the character Rebirth system for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Season of Hell’s Legacy and the Prime Evils
The core of Season 15 is a new questline centered on the return of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto. To support this theme, players can utilize the new Prime Evil Splinters mechanic. These Splinters—categorized by Terror, Destruction, and Hatred—grant significant powers to the player. However, using these Splinters carries a risk: they increase the player’s vulnerability to the specific Prime Evil associated with that splinter.
Progressing through the seasonal journey requires ownership of the Lord of Hatred expansion to complete approximately 15% of the objectives, specifically those found in Rank VIII.
Implementation of the Rebirth System
The 3.2.1 update introduces the Rebirth system. This system allows players to take an existing character from the Eternal Realm and convert them into a Level 1 Seasonal character. While the character’s level is reset to begin the season fresh, the character retains their original name, appearance, and tracked statistics.
Warlock Class Tuning and Legacy Loot
The Warlock class received buffs in 3.2.1. The Bombardment skill damage has been increased to approximately 55%, up from 40%. In addition to class changes, nine legacy Unique items have been permanently added to the general loot pool. These include:
- Stone of Jordan
- Leoric’s Crown
- Messerschmidt’s Reaver
Cosmetic Rewards and Promotions
Blizzard has launched several promotional ties alongside the new season. According to Blizzard News, players who pre-purchase The Witcher 3 expansion “Songs of the Past” via Battle.net will unlock a Geralt-themed skin for the Barbarian class.
Additional rewards are available through external platforms:
- Twitch Drops: The “Deforestation” two-handed axe cosmetic is available for players who watch eligible streams between September 15 and September 29, 2026.
What Changes for Players
This patch shifts gameplay toward builds utilizing the Prime Evil Splinters. Those with existing Eternal Realm characters can use the Rebirth system to enter the seasonal realm while keeping their name and stats. Players aiming for total seasonal completion should note that Rank VIII objectives are gated behind the Lord of Hatred expansion content.
