Pixel Reign and publisher Super Rare Originals have announced that the action-horror title Moros Protocol is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1, 2026. This console debut brings the fast-paced “boomer-shooter” experience to next-generation hardware roughly one year after its initial release.
The console editions are designed to be feature-complete, arriving with all updates and content parity currently found in the PC version. This includes several major boss encounters that were introduced during the game’s first year, such as Arachne and the Decaying Nychosaur.
Players on PS5 and Switch 2 will also have access to a specific collaboration weapon from the Black Mesa project: a usable crowbar. This crossover item serves as a nod to the game’s classic first-person shooter influences. Moros Protocol originally debuted on Steam on September 18, 2025, where it established its mechanical foundation of high-speed combat and retro-inspired aesthetics.
While the core campaign and content updates will be available at launch on both platforms, there is a slight variation in the rollout of multiplayer features. While the PlayStation 5 version is expected to include its full suite of features immediately, the drop-in co-op mode for the Nintendo Switch 2 version is slated to arrive as a post-launch update.
This move to consoles follows a period of active development where Pixel Reign refined the title based on player feedback from the initial PC launch. The October 1 release date resolves recent speculation regarding the timing of the console port, confirming the game will arrive in the early fall window of 2026.
