Digital Extremes released Warframe Update 44: Iceblade of Narin on September 23, 2026. This major update introduces the 66th Warframe, Narin, alongside a Riven Trait Locking mechanic and a significant overhaul to Banshee’s ability kit.

The update is currently live for players on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Narin: The 66th Warframe

Narin joins the roster as a frost-themed combatant. Her kit is built around Cold damage and precision rapier attacks. As the 66th unique Warframe, Narin’s playstyle emphasizes crowd control through freezing mechanics and high-mobility melee strikes.

Riven Trait Locking

A change to the weapon progression system arrives with Riven Trait Locking. This feature allows players to preserve a specific stat during the Riven cycling process. Using the lock mechanic doubles the Kuva cost for that cycle. This addition aims to reduce the RNG associated with high-tier weapon modifiers.

Banshee Ability Overhaul

Banshee has received a rework to improve her utility. The most notable change affects Sound Quake, which is no longer a channeled ability. It now creates a static area of effect that lasts for 25 seconds, allowing Banshee to move and use other weapons or abilities while the zone remains active.

Gameplay Adjustments and New Content

Update 44 introduces several balance changes and a new social hub:

  • Hydroid Prime Stat Adjustments: Hydroid Prime’s base stats have been adjusted to 290 Shields and 650 Armor.
  • Yuvan’s Peak: A new Earth Relay hub is now available. Players can access this location after completing both the Angels of the Zariman and Whispers in the Walls quests.
  • Citrine Prime Access: The latest Prime Access features Citrine Prime along with her signature weapons, Steflos Prime and Corufell Prime.

Future Operations

Digital Extremes has scheduled the next major in-game event, Epoch Operation: Taubound, to begin on October 15, 2026.
