No Man’s Sky Update 7.01 Patch Notes (PS5 7.001.000): Fixes and Map Changes

Published on:

Hello Games released No Man’s Sky patch 7.01 (PS5 version 7.001.000) on September 10, 2026. This update introduces new requirements for space station customization and resolves several technical issues that emerged after the version 7.0 launch.

Space Station and Multiplayer Improvements

The primary gameplay adjustment in patch 7.01 involves the economy of space station parts. Unlocking certain station components now requires specific salvaged materials, integrating the salvaging loop into the station customization system. Additionally, the Quartermaster’s room in planet-side outposts has been upgraded with a Galactic Trade Terminal for easier resource management.

Multiplayer interactions during high-level encounters have also been adjusted:

  • Improved Rewards: Rewards for clearing space hulks and infested outposts have been revised so that both players in a session can claim rare items.
  • Map Transparency: The star system map now displays the name of the current galaxy and the names of any active alliances in that sector.

Legacy Bug Fixes and Visual Corrections

This patch addresses a regression involving the Grave of the Ocean King. This space encounter was previously rendering at a scale 600 times smaller than intended; it has now been restored to its proper size. Spacewalking mechanics received camera stability adjustments for both first and third-person perspectives.

For Nintendo Switch players, the update corrects a bug where visual elements were missing from the star system map.

Performance and Stability

Stability is a focus for this release, particularly for players using the PlayStation 5 to run the PlayStation 4 version of the game, which was previously susceptible to a specific hang. Other technical fixes include:

  • Resolved crashes associated with Xeno Arena battles.
  • Fixed a memory crash related to inventory rendering.
  • General stability improvements for various platform-specific engine errors.

These changes provide a more stable foundation for gameplay, ensuring that legacy assets and new features function correctly across all supported platforms.
