Stalker 2 Update 1.021 (v2.0.5) Patch Notes: New CNPP Content & Performance Fixes

Published on:

GSC Game World has released update 1.021 (v2.0.5) for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl on September 10, 2026. This patch focuses on expanding content and resolving performance issues in high-intensity locations. The update is available for PC and is also reported to be available on PlayStation 5.

New Late-Game Content

The update introduces new environmental challenges and rewards for players exploring the Zone’s more dangerous sectors.

  • CNPP Expansion: A new Snork lair has been added to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (CNPP) location.
  • New Artifact: A specialized artifact has been introduced for the Lightbulbs anomaly.

AI and Stealth Adjustments

Update 1.021 refines how NPCs interact with the environment during dynamic weather. NPC hearing ranges are now adjusted based on specific weather conditions such as fog, rain, and thundery weather. Factually, this change ensures that environmental noise and visibility more accurately impact the player’s detection levels.

Additionally, Trader Suslov has updated his inventory to include anti-rad items, providing an essential resource for players venturing into highly irradiated zones.

Technical Fixes and Performance

According to official patch notes, several locations known for frame rate instability have been optimized. Players should notice smoother performance during the Arena mass fight, as well as within the Monorail and Perimeter Dam locations. For PC players, the update addresses a specific issue where the left and right controller sticks were overly sensitive, affecting movement and aiming.

Mission and Progression Updates

Mission-specific updates regarding checkpoint management include:

  • Moving in the Shadows: Additional autosaves have been integrated into this mission to prevent progress loss.

Gameplay Impact

Stealth becomes a more predictable tactic during heavy storms or thick fog due to the NPC hearing adjustments. Analysis indicates the addition of anti-rad items at Trader Suslov’s shop eases the logistical burden of exploration, while the new Snork lair at the CNPP increases the combat density of the game’s final environments. Performance improvements in the Arena and Perimeter Dam specifically target areas where combat encounters previously suffered from technical slowdown.
