The final week of September marks a significant moment for the Japanese gaming market as the Silent Hill revival continues to gather pace. Leading the schedule is the psychological horror title Silent Hill: Townfall, which arrives on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Developed by No Code in partnership with Annapurna Interactive and Konami, this entry in the long-running franchise shifts the series’ focus to the fictional Scottish town of St. Amelia. Set in 1996, the game is reported to lean heavily into the psychological atmosphere and experimental storytelling for which No Code is known. While the global rollout begins on Thursday, owners of the Deluxe Edition have already gained access to the title through a 48-hour early access period that started on September 22.
GOBBLE Launch
The week also sees the domestic Japanese launch of GOBBLE, a 2D platforming adventure scheduled for release on September 24. While the title is arriving for Japanese audiences, international audiences will have to wait significantly longer; the Western release for the game, published by NIS America, is currently slated for 2027.
Additional Japanese Releases
Beyond the headlining horror and platforming titles, reports from CKX Gaming indicate that several other games are expected to arrive on Japanese retail and digital shelves this Thursday, September 24:
- Control: Resonant: A new entry or expansion within the Remedy-connected universe, making its debut for Japanese players.
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age: This acclaimed RPG is reportedly receiving a dedicated “Switch 2 Edition,” bringing technical improvements to the experience.
- Harvest Moon: Echos of Teradea: The latest entry in the agricultural simulation series also joins the mid-week release lineup.
The mix of high-budget psychological horror and other scheduled releases suggests a robust period for Japanese consumers.
