Mycopunk 1.0 Features Grid-Based Customization and Day-One PS Plus Access

The cooperative sci-fi shooter Mycopunk, developed by Pigeons at Play and published by Devolver Digital, is scheduled to exit Early Access and launch its 1.0 version.

In a significant move for the title’s console debut, Mycopunk will be available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members as a day-one addition to the Game Catalog. For players purchasing the game outright, the launch price is set at $14.99 across all platforms.

The 1.0 update introduces a substantial amount of new content compared to the Early Access build. Players can expect a new playable character, additional weapons, grenades, and expanded maps as they navigate the game’s hostile environments.

Mechanically, Mycopunk distinguishes itself from traditional squad-based shooters through its grid-based weapon customization. This system requires players to strategically manage their inventory and equipment layouts to optimize their loadouts for survival. The gameplay loop centers on the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a group operating against the backdrop of the SAXON corporation. Players face unique mechanical enemies that scavenge parts from fallen foes to rebuild and upgrade themselves in real-time.

While the game emphasizes 1-4 player cooperative play, developers have not yet confirmed if cross-play support will be available between PlayStation 5 and PC users at launch.

The transition to full release follows recent showcases at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct and the September PlayStation State of Play, where the title’s sci-fi weaponry and squad-based combat were featured. The 1.0 version aims to finalize the mission structure and narrative progression established during its development phase.
